Creating Resources to go with my new book - easy peasy, right?
Well, you'd think so...but no.
As well as releasing the ebook version of the book over the past week, I've been uploading, editing, and creating resources for readers.
One of those resources is a video which talks you through measuring the feel good foundations.
Easy peasy, right?
Well, you'd think so.
At the beginning of last week, I took a little time out to record the video.
Unfortunately I forgot to switch the notifications off on my phone, the door went, and there was a load of other background noise.
Sigh.
Take 2.
This time all went well...until...I messed up at the very end.
And I don't have the software I used to use to edit videos and don't know how to use the software I do have, so...
Take 3.
I won't bore you with the details of the next 10 takes, but the highlights include:
youtube live not working
my laptop recording software not working
more fuckups halfway through recordings - including a total mind blank on a bit of the video I'd already done 8 times in a couple of days 🤔🤬🤯
lost files
software freezing so the sound jumped from one end of a sentence to another
my mic picking up the sound of a mouse moving a pebble half a mile away (and every other bloody sound in between)
I checked at least 3 times if Mercury was in retrograde - this sort of tech madness normally happens to me during Mercury Retrograde.
It wasn't. (Mars was if that means anything to you)
I should also mention that last week, I had PMT.
I was on the edge of screaming or crying for the majority of the week, and several times, the recording of this video sent me over that edge.
In the end, I gave up on it last week - sometimes it takes me a while to take the subtle hints the universe is giving me. 🙄
Yesterday, I tried again: TAKE 13!!!
Lucky for some.
The software worked, I remembered what to say, there was no random extra noise...
Ok, the video starts halfway through a sentence, but after 12 failed takes, I no longer care!
Well, that's not quite true, but I've decided it doesn't matter enough to do a take 14 (I'll perhaps re-record it some other day).
And after all that, here it is!
Now I can get on with the paperback formatting and hopefully stop swearing at my laptop!
